Bug Description

Adding to panel results in a one pixel wide app with preferences greyed out. Either have to reboot or killall gnome-panel to fix.

Confirmed. Exactly the same behaviour on 9.10.

Possibly related is the fact that the weather applet has it's preferences greyed out too.
