Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv

When I choose 'watch tv' it looks like it is going to lock and show me a channel, but before it does I get logged out and have to log back in.

This may be related to another bug that I posted regarding lirc. I will uninstall lirc, see if that resolves the issue and post back

Matt,

I'm having the same exact issue with MythTV. I'm not having any issues with lirc though, I just can't perform the "Watch TV" function. It just ends my session.
The backend still records shows, and I can still watch it on the front-end, but I can't use the "Watch TV" function.

Did you find a solution to this?

Thanks so much!

-Chris

If re-installing 10.04 is a solution then yes.

Since you are having the same issues it would probably be a huge help if you posted some info about your install.

Hi

This same issue exists for me, unfortunately I re-installed mythbuntu 10.04 before seeing this thread.

I had the remote control option unchecked in the mythbuntu control center as well (so I am assuming lirc was not installed).

Happy to install on a seperate HDD and provide more detail following the reporting link above.

I originally had updated from Mythbuntu 10.04 to 10.10. Then I had that error, and couldn't over come it, so I decided I would do a complete fresh install of 10.10... Only to find out that, that still didn't fix the problem.

Besides running "ubuntu-bug xorg" in the terminal, would you like me to give the results of any mythtv logs?

I'll post the results later on today. I'd prefer not to go back to 10.04

Thanks Matt!

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve MythTV and Ubuntu by opening this ticket. A later bug was created which has more extensive debug logs, so I'm going to mark this one as a duplicate of that. Please continue any discussion there. Thanks!
