Sorry forgot to add (not sure if it's helpful or not), the command line it comes up with for the Windows XP option in Grub which doesn't work is:

insmod ntfs
set root=(hd0,1)
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set a8e4f4ebe4f4bc9e
drivemap -s (hd0) $root
chainloader +1
