Dr. Cheng is a postdoc in the Multi-Scale Mechanics group of Prof. Stefan Luding at the University of Twente. Before joining the group, he worked on multiscale characterization of geosynthetic-reinforced soil (GRS), probabilistic parameter estimation and analytical modeling of GRS. His research now focuses on wave propagation in dry and saturated granular media, using coupled numerical methods (DEM/FEM/LBM). He is developing a fast and automated Bayesian framework for uncertainty quantification in multiscale simulations of granular media.
