Bug Description
Lernid currently assumes there is a net connection available and should really show a dialog box if it is unable to identify a connection and connect to the event.

to add to this, it is entirely possible that an http connection on port 80 will work fine, but the IRC ports may be firewalled. The feedback on the -classroom window needs to explain this.
