Bug Description

Binary package hint: usb-imagewriter

I've just installed usb-imagewriter on kubuntu (Version: 0.1.3-0ubuntu1) and unfortunately it fails to run. When launching it from the command line, the following message appears:

gb@kubuntu:~$ sudo imagewriter
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/imagewriter/imagewriter.py", line 22, in <module>
    import gtk.glade
ImportError: No module named glade
gb@kubuntu:~$

I'm investigating a problem reported by a LUG member; http://<email address hidden>/msg00202.html He reports exactly the same symptoms.

The fix was to install the python-glade package, apparently, although I can't find that listed; http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=python-glade&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all

It seems the package dependencies for usb-imagewriter are incorrect.

I was the Lug member who had the original problem as reported by Ralph. I found it by typing 'python-glade' into KPackageKit in Kubuntu 9.04.

This bug was fixed in the package usb-imagewriter - 0.1.3-0ubuntu2

---------------
usb-imagewriter (0.1.3-0ubuntu2) karmic; urgency=low

  [ Siegfried-Angel Gevattder Pujals ]
  * debian/control:
     - Move website to Homepage field.
     - Add a Dependency on python-glade2 (LP: #370297).
     - Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.1.
  * share/applications/imagewriter.desktop:
     - Use "gksu" instead of "gksudo" (LP: #376427).
  * debian/po, debian/rules, debian/install, debian/control:
     - Install all translations available on Launchpad.
  * Fix debian/watch, and little changes to debian/imagewriter.1.

  [ Mike Szczys ]
  * Applied patch to handle spaces in image path (LP: #366607)
     - lib/imagewriter.py: line 101: encapsulated source in double
       quotes so that it can be used with "ls -l" and "dd" commands
       even if the path includes spaces.
